I passed!

I’m pretty proud of myself right now. On Monday, I took the dreaded National Mortgage Licensing System test that tells me whether I get to have a job after May 31 or not. It is a 3-hour testing session – proctored, video monitored, empty-your-pockets – the whole bit. More than 1/3 of all loan officers who take the test fail the first time, with an average score of 69%.

I’m pleased to announce I completed the entire test in just under an hour and scored a raging 93%. This was the best score this particular testing center had seen on the NMLS test. So yeah, I’m thinking I’m quite the hot potato now. Even though it doesn’t really do anything for me except qualify me to take the state-level tests…I still can’t originate after May 31 until I pass the state tests in every state I want to originate in. Sheesh.
